Good morning y'all. Gee it is almost 7 AM on this Saturday morning and I'm up and raring to go... somewhere. Not really raring all that much as I had enough "going" this past week, about 3,000 miles worth of "going". However, hubby needs a hair cut and I want that new camera and I need to pick up some stuff for Gary to take with him on the road, so reckon a bit later, we'll head to the city. Have to wait for the barber shop to open, for some reason that lovin' man of mine, really doesn't want me to cut his hair.
WE left early on Sunday, headed for Atlanta, GA. Stopped for the night about 100 miles away, up early Monday morning, (ass crack of dawn) and drove through Atlanta and about 40 miles south to Newnan. From there Gary was dispatched to Phenix City, Alabama where he picked up some kind of coal dust stuff they use in the making of tires. This "stuff" was the nastiest, dirtiest stuff that Gary said he thinks he's ever hauled. Gary is a white boy y'all, but I tell y'all what... when he came back from being in the warehouse and all that stuff from this coal place, his face was black as night. I of course had to rib him for the next oh... 50-60 miles, but I'll spare you the details.
This load of coal dust stuff went to a town not far from Youngstown, Ohio. So off we went back through Atlanta and since it didn't have to be delivered until Wednesday morning, we stopped at this truck stop in Cartersville, GA to spend the night. We'd both been up since early morning and Gary's hours were about up as it was, so he did his paperwork and we climbed in bed. It was about 11 PM (eastern time), seemed like I had just fallen sleep and I hear Gary say... "Honey, we've been hit!" I'm up like a bolt of lightening, Gary's pulling his jeans on and I hear him say "GD... the SOB drove off!" I hear someone hollering, "Hey, STOP, STOP!" and then Gary's talking to someone. That someone turned out to be a witness that saw the truck that did the HIT & RUN and tried to stop him, but the HIT & RUN dude just drove out of the parking lot, like a bat out of hell.
Gary calls his "boss" and the witness is telling Gary the HIT & RUN guy had to know he hit us, because he backed up and then when he saw him (the witness), he just gave it hell and left. He told Gary WINDY HILL TRUCKING, was wrote on the side in big green letters. The police was called, a report filed and isn't it un-effin-believable that when WINDY HILL TRUCKING company was notified, why they said they didn't have a driver anywhere near Cartersville, GA on Monday night? Yeah, I thought it was un-effin-believable too!
Not much else could be done, all the necessary paper work was filed, Gary and the witness exchange phone numbers, witness helps Gary pull the truck bumper back out, so it doesn't rub the tire when you turn. Mirror is re-adjusted and seriously, the way the asswipe hit the tractor, very fortunate it was still drivable. Sure doesn't take much to make broken fiberglass look like hell, does it? Back to bed, lying awake for a good 3-4 hours before either one of us could doze off and then the damn alarm went off way to effin' early.
Up and going, not too speedy mind you and on through Georgia into Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. Spent the night about 60 miles from where the coal dust went in Ohio. Delivered it early on Wednesday morning and picked up a load of plastic something or other to deliver about 650 miles away in Grinnell, Iowa on Thursday. Spent the night not far from delivery point, delivered that morning and then picked up a load of carbonated beverages about 50 miles away to be delivered in Rolla, MO on Friday morning. Week was over and despite the "mishap" in Georgia on Monday night, the week really went pretty good, but one I want to forget. It was nice however, to get in early on Friday (before noon) and have the rest of the day off.
Gary mowed the yard yesterday afternoon, I baked some pork chops for dinner and made a salad. Today I'm contemplating on baking an Upside Down German Chocolate Cake as I've been craving one of them suckers for weeks now. I have all the stuff to fix it, just need the willpower to gitter-done!
Well, this is NOT getting anything done, been on the phone to Jill for the last half hour or longer, so I best get my hiney off the Internet and get busy. Gary leaves Sunday for Georgia again, I'll probably stick at home this week since I have a doctor's appointment on Friday. It's anyone's guess as if he'll be in late Friday night or could be early Friday morning that he'll call from the yard and tell me he'll be home in a minute or two, you just never know. Y'all have a great weekend.
What a day this is shaping up to be…

Good Morning CJ! I'm glad the accident didn't cause any injuries other than to the truck. I hope this week is restful and a good one for you. (((Hugs)))
I am glad that the truck was drivable and that there were no other injuries. I hate being in accidents! Good thing you are home. *HUGS*
Ack! CJ I didn't know you had a new blog! Glad to see you back. :D
I'm glad the hit wasn't any worse. It's good that Gary had a witness to the whole thing, and I hope they get him.
I've never had an upside down german chocolate cake. Never even heard of one.
I hope it was good.

Good luck at the doctor's
Well, I THOUGHT I had commented on this one before! hmmm
I'm glad y'all weren't hurt at all!! Also hope the doc visit went well!
anywho, guess what? same thing happened to hubby last week!! Truck stop, sleeping. The asshole tore his bumper forward, and messed up the fender! He didn't see who did it. He apparently slept through it. He saw it when he woke up, and got out of the truck! I told him about that happening to y'all the other week! Hmmm, I wonder if it was the same fucknut?
